Acts 4: 32-37 says “All the believers were united in heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had and no one went in need of anything!
Building Community
What does giving look like? Who are the “needy?” How do I support the body of Christ? These are all questions we have pondered at one point or another, and I think Acts 4 answers some of those questions!
We are launching a new program here at Sojourn that is focusing on meeting the needs of the body of Christ (both within Sojourn and without). The Bible clears states that the early church shared everything and that no one was in need! We want to model the early church.
If you have a need or have something you own that is in decent condition, we want to know so that we can meet the needs we have within the church. Let it be stressed that when we talk about being “in need” we are not just talking about those in poverty, but simply “a lack of something wanted or necessary.”
We realize that sometimes asking is the hardest part! Because we value your privacy, we have set up an email address that you can contact if you have a need or if you have something you want to make available to the body. It is a private address and you can be as public or as private as you want. As we receive needs, Heather will email them to those who are part of the church and include them in the bulletin. We are so excited about what God is going to do as we share our needs and give out of our abundance!
How can I be a part?
